Image Management website designer and programmer Dylan Broll tells us more about himself!
What got you interested in website design and programming?
From the time I was very little I always had some interest in computers. It all began playing snake and a few games back in the MS-DOS days. As I grew older computers and games got better and better, but I didn’t have much interest past using them. Then came an eighth grade class, I don’t recall the name but it was a basic computer proficiency class that taught us how to use Microsoft Office and some other basic programs. The class was way below my skill level so the teacher let me work ahead so I wasn’t sitting around bored. A month into the three month class I had finished all of the coursework. This moment was the turning point for me, she suggested trying my hand at learning website coding. I managed to complete a basic HTML/CSS course with my remaining time and started playing around making websites.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
I am pretty big into motocross racing so I try to ride every weekend. It’s something I have been doing since I got my first dirt bike at 13. My brother and I used to ride all day everyday in circles around a 10 acre field across from my house. Since then I’ve progressed quite a bit as a rider and even won some amateur titles and quite a few races. Outside of racing I enjoy Bass fishing, shooting pool and relaxing at the beach.
What has been your favorite project so far at Image Management?
I’ve worked on a lot of fun projects during my time working here. I would say my favorite so far has been Web Grill Parts. I created the design and did all the coding on this website and it has a really slick look. There are a lot of nuts and bolts that go into building an e-commerce site. I really enjoyed creating the back end of this website and making it function as great as it looks.
What's your favorite food?
My favorite food is hands down pizza. I honestly think it wouldn’t bother me to eat it for every meal, just writing about it makes me hungry. That being said my favorite restaurant to order from is Papa Johns.
What's your favorite inspirational quote?
"You cannot have million dollar dreams and a minimum wage work ethic." — Unknown
I think this quote hits the nail on the head. Everyone wants to be a millionaire but the ones who make it are the ones who are willing to work for it.
What's your favorite type of music?
I am almost always listening to music. My main genres are rock and rap, but I dip into just about everything except for county. Some of my favorites are ADTR, Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Escape the Fate, Rise Against, Biggie, Mac Miller, G-Eazy, 2Pac.
